現在国内で20万台以上のAEDが導入されているそうですが、設置場所の地図は自治体毎にバラバラ管理され、いざという時に検索するのは困難なのが実情です。

このアプリは、作者の方がそれらの情報をまとめ、データベースへの登録を行っておられるようです。2010年3月22日現在33,800のAEDが登録され、その数は日々増え続けています。(最新の情報はこちら)
